DIY Christmas Village Templates
Leave it to Joanna Gaines to make cardboard look adorable. Think gingerbread houses, but more durable (and way less messy).
Not only is her little cardboard village incredibly cute—it's also insanely easy to make. All you need are her design templates, a pair of scissors, glue, and voila! The templates are printable and can be used to build small, medium, or large homes. Best part, they're absolutely free.
Follow along on the blog to see how to put the houses together and how to add a little personality—Gaines makes it super easy to add smart design touches like trim and shingles with coffee stirrers and popsicle sticks. Once the foundation and details have been added you can choose to keep your little houses bare or paint them to match the rest of your decor.
Building the little houses is a breeze, and the construction of a Christmas Village is a great activity for the entire family that will really get you in the Christmas spirit. Kids young and old can handle the cutting, and the decorating is obviously fun for everyone. Given that the houses are made of cardboard, you can easily store them and make a family tradition out of adding more houses to your village every year. Joanna, you did it AGAIN.
